In areas where natural nesting sites are scarce, nest boxes can play a crucial role in conserving these species. By putting up nest boxes, you can attract these birds, which can help with natural pest control.
Hang the nest box at a height of at least 2 meters in a quiet location, away from direct sunlight. Ideally, orient the opening towards the northeast, as rain often comes from the southwest. Ensure there are no branches in front of the entrance. Place nest boxes for the same species at least 10 meters apart and nest boxes for different species at least 3 meters apart. In September, remove the old nesting material and clean the nest box with hot water and a brush.
